We sat down with the skin guru to discuss how this new laser has become the go-to treatment for smoother, clearer, and brighter skin. Here’s what she had to say…
What is Clear + Brilliant?
Clear + Brilliant is a gentle fractional laser that has two different wavelengths. The different wavelengths help target texture, pore size, fine lines, and wrinkles while helping to tighten the skin.
You can use them independently or combine them in the same treatment session, depending on your respective skin needs and concerns.
Who is the ideal candidate for this type of laser?
It’s a great laser treatment for almost anyone. It’s a great pre-rejuvenation laser to target early signs of aging and stimulate collagen production. It’s also a good maintenance laser and an introductory laser.
Walk us through the treatment...
At Skincare by Amy Peterson, we numb you for 30 minutes before the laser treatment. After the skin is numb, we ensure your skin is properly cleansed before beginning the treatment.
Then we start the treatment and decide on the best modality for your skin. During the treatment, we give you a cold air blower to hold to help cool the skin. Once we finish, we penetrate a serum into your skin, custom to your needs.
Generally, the treatment takes about 60 minutes. For optimum results, we suggest a package of treatments spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart.
What, if any, are the side effects?
There’s minimal downtime with this laser, which makes it easy to schedule into a busy lifestyle.
Post laser, you should avoid the sun and sauna and be diligent about wearing a high SPF daily, especially in Miami.
What pre/post-care routines do you recommend?
We suggest the Avene SOS Post Procedure Recovery System or ALASTIN’s Procedure Enhancement System with TriHex Technology kit for post-treatment skincare.
We advise people not to use exfoliators. Let the skin peel and slough off naturally. We also gift you my ice roller to use post-procedure to help calm your skin and de-puff.
What other treatments do you offer at your medspa that are similar to Clear + Brilliant?
Ultraclear 3D miracle laser is the closest thing we offer in my clinic to Clear + Brilliant, except it uses ablative, not fractional technology. You can dial down Ultraclear so it has maximum results with minimal downtime.
It’s recommended to have a series of Clear + Brilliant treatments to see maximum results, including reduced pore size, minimized fine lines, and brighter and smoother overall skin tone and texture.
