In the ever-evolving world of social media, authenticity has become a rare attribute. But for Kristi Howard, it’s the only way she knows how to connect with her 3.2 million followers on TikTok.
The Nashville star doesn’t try to project a perfect image; she opts for a more real-life, unfiltered, humorous approach. One scroll on her social media pages and you’ll discover videos of funny dancing videos, raw moments of her journey with anxiety, and a host of PR unboxings and giveaways.
We caught up with Kristi to chat about her upcoming brand trips, the most random thing in her travel bag, and the key to success on social media. Here’s what she had to say…
3H: Let’s talk summer vacations. What exciting plans do you have?
KH: I haven’t officially announced it yet, but… I’m moving into my first-ever home! This will consume most of my summer, but I also will be going on some exciting brand trips. I’m going to Nantucket with Colourpop Cosmetics and couldn’t be more excited. I hope to return to the Hamptons before the summer ends as well.
3H: Traveling is a regular part of your content; how do you prioritize what to pack?
KH: Each trip I’ve discovered I get better with packing. I plan out my outfits and schedule ahead of time if possible. That way I can narrow down bringing exactly what I’ll need and not in between “maybe” outfits. Knowing your itinerary ahead of time is key.
3H: POV: You’re on a plane; what’s the most random thing in your travel bag?
KH: It might be random to others, but for me, it’s an essential—my portable fan. I’ve been stuck on planes with the air broken or just felt nauseous when boarding. So I always have my trusty packable fan to whip out when I need to cool down. Always gets me lots of compliments too—haha!
3H: Amazon is full of amazing fashion and beauty items; how do you navigate finding the best items for your storefront?
KH: I love pulling inspo from creators all around me and curating something that would fit both myself and my audience. Usually when shopping for specific things I like, Amazon tends to recommend similar items, and from there, it’s a whole rabbit hole of endless things. I could browse on Amazon for days; I love it so much.
3H: Walk us through your summer beauty GRWM routine…
KH: Skincare is key. Finding a simple glow base with sunscreen, then filling in my brows, gloss, and some mascara in the summer is all you need. Especially when you have a great tan, or spray tan in my case.
3H: It’s refreshing to see unfiltered content from creators. What inspires you to show the real you on camera?
KH: I realized I found success when I was more myself than when I was playing a character or trying to be something I was not. It comes off as more genuine, and not only is it easier for me, it shows through the screen. People can always tell when you’re trying too hard or faking something. Being yourself is freeing, and you will also find genuine followers who follow you for YOU.
3H: What new goals can we expect more from you in the future?
KH: Once settled into my new home, I hope to get some exciting projects together. I want to tap more into Amazon Lives like I used to. I’m also growing my team to produce more content so that I will have help on the back end of things. The home content and real-life tasks and struggles that come with it will all be documented, so be sure to stay tuned.
